Dianne and her husband may have also been too young for a lasting marriage, they may have not been ready to settle yet at 17 and 18 years of age.
After separation at some point during their relationship, he realized that he preferred the married life, and begged his wife to come back. Diane admitted that she was deeply in love with Chuck in high school, then the feeling must have reversed and he started to feel very deep love towards her. After that they had a great marriage.
According to an interview with her husband, he became too addicted to the Hollywood lifestyle, “lost sight of what’s really important in life” and lost his marriage because of it.
The dissolution of their marriage was slow and not obvious; when both realized what was happening to their relationship, there was nothing left.
