He had certain plans for his daughter. It wasn’t so much that the future Broadcast legend Al Michaels was Jewish, but that he wasn’t a “purebred Greek” that was the problem for her father. Linda’s mother always liked Al.

In the summer of 1965, before their senior year, Linda and Alan decided they were going to get married. Al convinced Linda’s father that we would take good care of his daughter once he become a sports broadcaster on radio or television.

Linda Anne Stamaton’s father ended up embracing the couple’s love and marriage. Linda and her future husband graduated from universities in 1966 and got married on August 27, 1966. Linda’s father threw a wedding that the Greek community of Los Angeles would remember. Al Michaels and Mr. Stamaton had a great relationship until his death in 2002.

Both Linda Anne Stamaton and her husband got their first jobs in television with Chuck Barris Productions. Al was helping to procure potential contestants, while Linda was an assistant prize coordinator at the same company.
