Meinhard Schwarzenegger, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Brother

Meinhard Schwarzenegger was the older brother of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Meinhard Schwarzenegger was born in July 1946, in Thal, Austria to Aurelia Jadrny Schwarzenegger (homemaker) and Gustav Schwarzenegger (Police Chief). He passed away in May 1971, at the age of just 25.

Meinhard was just one year older than Arnold. According to “Arnold Schwarzenegger: A Biography”, Meinhard was Gustav’s favorite. Unlike his younger brother, he was a very healthy and strong boy. The two brothers often competed with each other, virtually in everything.

As a young man, Meinhard left Thal, Austria and went to Germany. He has many girlfriends and started to drink heavily. Once he even went to prison for assault. Meinhard Schwarzenegger died in a car accident – he was drunk at the wheel.

Among his many girlfriends in Germany, one – Erika Knapp got pregnant and had a son, Patrick in 1968. Patrick Schwarzenegger (Patrick M. Knapp Schwarzenegger) is an Austrian-American attorney based in Los Angeles, California. He is the cousin of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick Schwarzenegger, born 1993.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a famous Austrian-American actor, producer, businessman, activist and politician. Meinhard Schwarzenegger’s younger brother Arnold was born in July 1947 and is 69 years old in 2017. He made a move to the United States in his early adulthood, and started his stellar bodybuilding career. At the age of 20, he won the title of Mr Universe, and won Mr Olympia seven times.

After bodybuilding, he started his acting career and became one of the most recognised action superstars. He had a retirement and then return to acting. Later on, he became the governor of California had presidential ambitions. He has a long list of awards and honours, and published several books.

The unfortunate fate of his brother Meinhard Schwarzenegger was one of the things that kept Arnold motivated throughout his life to achieve everything he had achieved.
