Atila Altaunbay was a bodyguard and the spouse of Grace Jones from 1996 to 2004. Altaunbay and Jones’s relationship ended after his fit of jealousy, when he put a knife to Grace’s throat. Atila Altaunbay’s ex was impartial to some other of her bodyguards as well, including Dolph Lundgren.

Atila Altaunbay is a Hungarian originally from Turkey. He used to reside in New York, but his current location is unknown.

Atila and Grace got together in 1996, dated for one month and married in February 1996. According to some sources, they divorced 7 years later in 2004. However, in Grace’s 2015 memoir, “I’ll Never Write My Memoirs”, as well as her interviews she tells that she can’t find her husband Atila Altaunbay to divorce him. Thus, Altaunbay and Jones may still be legally married, and records about their divorce in 2004 indicate the year their relationship ended.

Atila Altaunbay’s wife, Grace Jones was born Grace Mendoza in May, 1948 in Spanish Town, Jamaica. Grace is famous for her three decade long career that started in 1973. Grace was raised by her grandmother and moved to New York when she was 13 years old. She had an extremely successful modelling career, as well as succeed as singer, actor and entertainer.

Records state that Grace’s ex Atila is possibly single and not dating anyone right now. Grace has been in many relationships since her separation with Attila.

Through her relationship with Jean-Paul Goude, Jones has a son, Paulo. In her memoir, she disputes rumors that she married Chris Stanley, saying, “I only ever married one of my boyfriends, Atila Altaunbay, a Muslim from Turkey.” She had a four year relationship with Dolph Lundgren. Jones dated Danish actor/bodybuilder Sven-Ole Thorsen in 1990.

Attila is a popular masculine name in Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey, stun-gunned by the 5th century Atila Hun. The origin and meaning of the name is debated, it may mean “little father” or “universal ruler”.
