Genasaqua meaning – Je ne sais quoi…

Je ne sais quoi (genasaqua) is French for something indefinable, elusive, but pleasing. Literally, the phrase “Je n’ais sais Quois” means “I don’t know what”. An example of usage: There’s a certain je ne sais quoi about him… Or: How does one achieve that certain je ne sais quoi?

Definition of genasaqua differs form source to source, but in general it stands for something nice that cannot be described or expressed.

When you say he/she has a certain jenasaqua, it means that they have a certain something special, but you are at a loss of words to describe it. An English equivalent phrase: There is something about him/her, I don’t know what…

You can extend this French phrase to: “Je ne sais quoi, not c’est quoi” (“I don’t know what it is”).

There also is a Genasaqua Cattery working with Persian cats in the Rogue River Valley, Southern Oregon, USA.

Some people like this phrase so much that they made Genasaqua their username.
